FULL ARCH RECONSTRUCTION
Implant supported full occlusal arch reconstruction

When all teeth in an arch are lost (a total of 16 teeth), full dentures have been the traditional means of replacing the ability to chew and smile.

With the bone loss that occurs with missing teeth, the lower denture in particular becomes loose and uncomfortable. Whilst serving very well as an aesthetic appliance, it is very poorly tolerated for eating. With age, patients will often revert to puree diets, or not use their dentures at all for chewing because of the extremely poor retention.

Implants can be used to “lock” a removable denture or to permanently “bolt” them in for a permanent arch of teeth.

This incredibly complex, and technically demanding process can take upwards of 12 months to complete. Treatment is a combination of efforts between implant manufacturers, surgeons, implant restorative dentists, and specialist technicians, and as a service is relatively new one to the Hunter region.

Overall, the process incorporates specialist bone augmentation techniques, implant placement, and then prosthodontic construction of zirconia or titanium structures. These in turn ultimately support teeth, and are bolted permanently to the client's integrated implants.
